About the William & Mary Sports Blog
Founded in 2014 by brothers and proud alumni Davey and Kyle Chadwick, the William & Mary Sports Blog began as a passion project — a creative outlet born from a deep love for the Tribe and a lifelong enthusiasm for sports journalism. What started as a side hobby has grown into a vibrant, independent platform celebrating William & Mary Athletics through news, storytelling, and analysis.

Over the past decade, the Blog has primarily focused on football and men’s basketball — sports that first inspired its creation. Along the way, we’ve also covered moments from across the broader W&M sports landscape, highlighting the incredible student-athletes who represent the Tribe in so many different arenas. While we’ve never positioned ourselves as comprehensive of all W&M sports in our coverage, that comes not from a lack of care or interest in all Tribe sports, but from the reality of limited time and resources, especially as the Blog has been primarily operated over the years solely by its co-founders, alongside full-time jobs and life outside the WMSB.

In more recent years, we've been incredibly fortunate to receive help from a growing group of passionate volunteers — fellow alumni, students, and fans — who have stepped up to contribute stories, insights, and content across both women’s and men’s sports. Their voices have helped expand our reach, bring fresh perspective, and keep the Blog thriving.

We’re continually inspired by the work of the William & Mary Athletics Department, whose dedicated professionals, including long-time voices like Jay Colley, Kris Sears, Pete Clawson and countless others, provide year-round, robust coverage of all Tribe sports. Our work only serves to complement theirs in meaningful ways, and we're proud to contribute in our own style and capacity.

As we look ahead, we’re always eager to welcome new contributors. If you’re passionate about William & Mary, have a talent for writing or social media, and are interested in covering any aspect of Tribe Athletics — especially with an eye toward elevating both women’s and men’s sports — we’d love to hear from you. While this has never been a paid endeavor, it has always been one powered by heart, community, and a deep love for alma mater.

At its heart, the Blog has always been about connection. We’re here to celebrate the highs, reflect on the lows, and share the stories that bring the Tribe family together. With thousands of social media followers and over half a million website views, we’re humbled by the support of this amazing community — and we remain committed to honoring W&M Athletics in a way that is genuine, thoughtful, and true to why we started this in the first place.
